			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Welcome to episode number 3. Both Robert and I hop on Skype and share updates on what we have been up to in our own individual marketing efforts.</p>
<p>You can also catch <a title="Episode 1 of the yet to be named marketing podcast" href="http://www.youbrandinc.com/branding/digital-marketing-tips-pulling-back-the-curtain/">episode 1</a> and <a title="episode 2 of the yet to be named podcast on marketing" href="http://www.youbrandinc.com/interview/day-2-creating-video-for-landing-pages-and-reworking-an-old-product-with-traffic/">episode 2</a>&#8230;</p>
<p>In the first part of the show both Robert and I give an update of some of the high level things we did over the last week. I start out first and share&#8230;</p>
<p>In my real estate niche I updated the product. I essentially turned my e-book into an audio book as a bonus download. After I did that I updated my offer page with some minor changes to reflect this new content.<br />
<span id="more-2390"></span><br />
</p>
<h2>My Budget Gone in 10 Minutes</h2>
<p>Not wanting to wait I wanted to drive traffic. So I fired up a great domain targeted campaign and blew through my budget in the first 10 minutes. I have a rule. Whenever I make a dumb mistake I take a second to step back because usually I&#8217;ve made a dumb mistake somewhere else.</p>
<p>Essentially I had CraigsList.org in my target list. Huge mistake as this is one of the biggest trafficked site in my niche. After taking that out and double checking I then saw a huge jumps in opt-ins.</p>
<h2>My Email List</h2>
<p>For this product I&#8217;ve some how or somewhere built an email list. One list of 37 and another list of 900 or so. I&#8217;ve never emailed either one of these lists. So I figured why don&#8217;t I email them to keep in touch.</p>
<p>Here are my results:</p>
<h3>Email List 1:</h3>
<ul>
<li>909 Emails sent</li>
<li>107 bounces (11.8%)</li>
<li>1.25% complaints</li>
<li>106 opens (11.7%)</li>
<li>31 clicks (3.4%)</li>
<li>2 sales (yeah)</li>
</ul>
<h3>Email List 2:</h3>
<ul>
<li>37 emails sent</li>
<li>2 bounces (5.4%)</li>
<li>2.86% complaints</li>
<li>8 opens (21.6%)</li>
<li>2 clicks (5.4%)</li>
<li>1 Sale (yeah)</li>
</ul>
<p>Not bad for an email list that I never have emailed.</p>
<h2>Here&#8217;s What I&#8217;m Doing Next</h2>
<p>My next step is to drive more traffic to increase my sales and to build my email list. From there I&#8217;ve created an email auto-responder campaign. This is value based with a soft sale for my product.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve also noticed that my traffic comes from a few states here in the US. So I&#8217;m going to be creating special offers that is state specific.</p>
<h2>Here&#8217;s What Robert is Up Too&#8230;</h2>
<p>Robert has finished his offers and finished his membership site (find more info on his <a href="http://itinerantentrepreneur.com/" target="_blank">internet marketing</a>). Also how he has used his membership site where he is gaining valuable strategic data. This is gold right here and shouldn&#8217;t be something that you overlook.</p>
<p>He also shared his strategy with his analytic tools. The first tool is <a title="analytic software" href="http://www.youbrandinc.com/glytics" target="_blank">Clicky</a> and <a title="Ranking Posts" href="http://www.postrank.com" target="_blank">PostRank</a>. He also goes into more depth and covers tons more topics which is why I suggest you listen to today&#8217;s show.</p>
<p>Great stuff in this episode and if you like what we are doing here please share or comment below.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here is day 2 of our soon to be named podcast. Robert Dempsey and give a little intro here then jump right in.</p>
<p>Our intent with this show is to pull back the curtain to digital marketing. Share with you what we are doing, what is working, what isn&#8217;t working, and general news and tips on digital marketing.</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s show we did a little intro to explain this in the most concise way possible. In our later episodes this will be shorter and we will jump right into the content.</p>
<p><span id="more-2326"></span><br />
<script type="text/javascript">
var playerhost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://media.youbrandinc.com.s3.amazonaws.com/Podcast/scott-rob/ezs3js/secure/" : "http://media.youbrandinc.com.s3.amazonaws.com/Podcast/scott-rob/ezs3js/player/");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + playerhost + "mp3/9BDF5801-ADD1-14B0-61C79679A3AA8DCE.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script></p>

<h2>Join Us on the Show</h2>
<p>Do you like being around people that are making things happen? Do you enjoy the energy of people that are action orientated? How about people that come up with a concept or an idea and execute?</p>
<p>This is our promise to you. We will focus on sharing with you the inside view of what is working in digital marketing. This really isn&#8217;t about us though and we would like to invite you on the show.</p>
<p><strong>Are you currently marketing yourself or your product in the digital space?</strong> We want to hear from you. We also want to invite you on our show as a guest. We will have an open discussion and get into the meat of what strategies and tactics you are using. We will ask questions and suggest things that might help or ideas you can implement right now. In addition we would ask that we all have a good time!</p>
<p>Please note this show and concept is new for Robert and I so we are still working out format, length, time, etc&#8230; but we are committed to making it and making it great.</p>
<p>First I give a quick background on what you can expect in our show and what we will be talking about in future versions. Then we cover&#8230;</p>
<h2>Strategy of a Video Landing Page</h2>
<p>Next, Robert shares with us his strategy on some of his niche websites. He goes into detail around a particular video strategy he is currently rolling out. From there we discuss why this is a good strategy and what or how is he going to measure results.</p>
<p>He also talks about why he feels this is a good move and why he feels video is by far the best way to communicate on the web.</p>
<h2>Rework of a Product</h2>
<p>Then I share with you a product I have in the real estate market. This product has been on auto-pilot for a while now but in looking at stats and traffic I saw an opportunity.</p>
<p>I share with you the strategy of what I did, why I decided to create a 5+ hour recording and what I&#8217;m going to do after I release that.</p>
<p>Essentially I&#8217;m reworking the offer, updating the affiliate program, and sending more paid traffic to get data quicker. I might even continue that traffic but I&#8217;m not sure.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is a new feature for us at You Brand, Inc.</p>
<p>We are starting to interview people that we feel have great insight. Also by listening to these interviews our goal is to give you actionable advice that can make a difference in your business. These interview will range ffrom business owners, entreprenuers, industry experts, or to someone who just has a great story to tell.</p>
<p>The interview below is from Dan Fernandez from <a title="Web development" href="http://www.webbizideas.com/" target="_blank">WebBizIdeas</a>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Do you have an idea for a web application in your head? Dan gives some great advice on how to make this reality.</li>
<li>Key elements to a success web application</li>
<li>Wireframing and why doing this saves you time, money, and effort. As a side note I believe this can be transferred over not just to web development but business ideas as well.</li>
<li>Plus much more&#8230;</li>
</ul>
<p><span id="more-1504"></span></p>
<p>This is one of our first interviews and the first one in video. I did this in Skype and the connection dropped off a bit. Also I summarized the process I went through below if you are interested in doing this yourself. <strong>I noticed there might be some syncing issues&#8230; yes I know annoying</strong>.</p>
<h2>Watch the Interview Below</h2>
<!-- ProPlayer by Isa Goksu --><div name="mediaspace" id="mediaspace"><div class="pro-player-container" width="480px" height="385px"><div id="pro-player-1504pp-single-4f319a774c78b"></div></div></div>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
var flashvars = {
width: "480",
height: "385",
autostart: "false",
repeat: "false",
backcolor: "111111",
frontcolor: "cccccc",
lightcolor: "66cc00",
stretching: "fill",
enablejs: "true",
mute: "false",
skin: "http://www.youbrandinc.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/players/skins/default.swf",
logo: "http://www.youbrandinc.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/players/watermark.png",
image: "http://www.youbrandinc.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/players/preview.png",
plugins: "",
javascriptid: "1504pp-single-4f319a774c78b",
image: "http://www.youbrandinc.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/players/preview.png",
file: 'http://www.youbrandinc.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/playlist-controller.php?pp_playlist_id=1504pp-single-4f319a774c78b&sid=1328650871'
};
var params = {
wmode: "transparent",
allowfullscreen: "true",
allowscriptaccess: "always",
allownetworking: "all"
};
var attributes = {
id: "obj-pro-player-1504pp-single-4f319a774c78b",
name: "obj-pro-player-1504pp-single-4f319a774c78b"
};
swfobject.embedSWF("http://www.youbrandinc.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/players/player.swf", "pro-player-1504pp-single-4f319a774c78b", "480", "385", "9.0.0", false, flashvars, params, attributes);</script>
<h2>How Did I Do This</h2>
<ol>
<li>We did the interview in Skype</li>
<li>While doing the interview I used a program called <a href="http://www.vodburner.com/" target="_blank">VodBurner</a>.</li>
<li>I then had to use VodBurner to edit this interview and export to AVI</li>
<li>I imported this into Cyberlink Powerdirector and put the parts together</li>
<li>Exported to MPG then used Adobe Media Encoder to Export to mp4 to save size</li>
</ol>
<p>My Overall thoughts on this is it was a pain. First VodBurner does not record in any native format (ie AVI, MPG). So you have to use their program to render the video. So after  you have a recorded call you have to tell podburner you want to edit the call. It then converts this to AVI (both sides of the conversation). So essentially I had 2 50GB AVI files. One for my side of the call and one for Dan. You then use Vodburner to edit how the final AVI comes out. So I had about 100GB tied up by this process. Plus the original files that Vodburner records in.</p>
<p>I should mention that because we had a dropped call a few times that means I had to do the above three times.</p>

<p>Steve began his sales career in 1980 as a stockbroker. In a highly competitive business where the telephone can often lead to frustration, Steve learned to develop the skills and disciplines needed to produce phenomenal results. In only 8 months he had opened 180 new accounts from cold calls, along with setting a company record of nine in one day!</p>

<p>In 1989, Steve joined a local sales training organization as Vice President of sales. Each week he would work one-on-one with his salespeople by listening to their tape-recorded telephone calls. Together they would identify what was working and what wasn’t, and then discuss specific strategies for improved performance. This hands-on approach and the positive feedback Steve provided led to superior results for his salespeople. Steve realized that this fresh approach to learning was producing results, and the combination of his love of sales along with his unique ability to teach others became the catalyst that created Telemasters, Inc. in 1990.</p>
<p>Steve’s motivation, insights and down-to-earth strategies provide a powerful learning experience for all. His mission in life is to lead, teach and inspire others to apply timeless principles that produce life-changing results.</p>
