USPS to allow marketing images on upper right of packages

The new Picture Permit option, allowing marketing images to be added to the permit imprint indicia in the upper right-hand corner of mail pieces, can help boost the visual impact and effectiveness of direct mail, according to USPS.The cost would be an extra 1 cent for first-class letters and cards, and 2 cents for standard-mail letters, USPS said. If approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission, the new feature will be available by the end of June.
