Scott,

I certainly agree that having the right mindset will always give the most desireable results. One must be able to have long term vision, tenacity, and the discipline to continue through multiple failures. There are plenty of sales positions out there that are far more than 10 NOs for every 1 YES, as well, and it's important to take that with a grain of salt. I disagree, however, on the fact of taking emotion entirely out of business. One must be able to resist making emotional decisions or overly expressing emotions that don't fit the moment, but having empathy for your customer and understanding their emotional state is, in my opinion, the only way you can solve their problem with them. Sales is about showing the benifit of your product and service to as many people as possible and, hopefully, when you find someone that has the capacity, aptitude and need, you can provide the benefits to them that will make them take the next step.

I appreciate your post and your clearly defined passion.

To your success,Sincerely,

Andrew Shigeru Christison
