| Updated August 7, 2018 | 6:01pm Pornhub is expanding out of cyberspace to IRL, and its tens of millions of users are going to be giving it a hand. The mega clip site, which has been the bane of the legacy porn industry since it launched in 2007, is getting into the awards-show game.

The move will have Pornhub going head to head against adult entertainment awards stalwarts like the XBIZ Awards and the 35-year-old Adult Video News Awards, aka porn’s Oscars. Unlike other porn awards shows, Pornhub will rely on data that it collects from its site to determine the winners.

This is a major departure from more traditional porn awards like the AVNs, which are decided by a committee of porn professionals who spend hours in a conference room poring over the best porn produced in a given year. The first-ever Pornhub Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Sept.

6 and will be hosted by porn superstar Asa Akira. Fans will also be able to watch a livestream of the event online or “attend” in virtual reality through Oasis, a social VR world. Read more from…
