Earlier this summer I had the distinct experience of debating Bitcoin maximalist and trollish performer extraordinaire Tone Vays at the Porcupine Freedom Festival in New Hampshire. The debate mostly focused on the merits of Dash vs. Bitcoin as a payments system, specifically if there is room for another coin in the cryptoverse besides Bitcoin.

We covered monetary properties such as scarcity, competition, money vs. trade clearing, and decentralization, of course. We each learned a good deal more about the other coin.

Oddly enough, it was a very productive debate, a bit of a contrast with the boisterous trolling style of typical Vays debate. I feel like we managed to bridge the gap a little bit, and that proponents of competing coins should sit down and have an in-person debate in a long format of in excess of an hour.
