A new roundup post today. First up, great sky line picture above by Glenn Harper.
What is the future of digital marketing? Could it possibly be you? A follow up question, in the future will the sum total of our lives just be a large data set of numbers and stats?
Every minute, the world’s 2 billion Internet users upload staggering volumes of data to the web: an estimated 200 billion emails, 48 hours of YouTube videos, 684,478 posts on Facebook. And then there’s Tweets, Instagram photos, text messages and blog posts.
I don’t know the answer to the question above but I do know data is playing a bigger role in our lives.
Ian Brodie wrote a great piece about why you should act then write. He uses the story of a comedian named Dave Gorman to make a great point about writing and creating content. It shows action drives success and ultimately it’s probably smart to eat your own dog food. Here’s the pull quote that makes it highly worth reading:
[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]The key is that people are more interested in what you’ve done than what you think.[/social_quote]
BTW, you can create share-able pull quotes like the one above with the Social Quote Traffic Plugin.
There’s also a good post on Fizzle that provides some great tips on blogging and how one blogger went from 0 to 40,000 unique visits in one month.
Finally, there is a good roundup on the State of Media and Possible Business Models.
I mentioned this story about how Facebook might have changed the game with the meme sites that have become ever popular the last 12 months or so.
Here’s our follow up post on the subject Did Facebook Just Declare War on These Sites? and You Wont Believe How Much This One Change Improved This Facebook Ad.
Rishona Campbell had a good Twitter tool round up titled 10 Free Twitter Tools You Might not Know But Should be Using.
That’s all for this week.
This is the first week I’ve put together a post like this. We curate so many stories across all our our different platforms that I wanted to provide a kind of round up for the week. A post where we could highlight the standout stories and concepts we’ve come across.
