If you’re a VR veteran there’s a good chance you’ve heard of The Forest before. This long-in-development survival game, released in Early Access all the way back in 2014, once long ago promised VR support in the final release.

After years without mention of that support, though, we’d given up hope it would make it in. That doesn’t seem to be the case, however.

Developer Endnight Games this week confirmed that the full version of The Forest is being targetted for release at the end of April, with an exact date TBD. However, the most interesting part of the announcement post notes that details about a “VR game mode” will be revealed closer towards the release.

That certainly pricked our ears. The vague term suggests that it might not be the full campaign that gets VR support.

In the regular version of The Forest you crash land in the middle of the wilderness and must gather resources and build a settlement in order to survive. Eventually, you’ll discover strange monsters that you’ll need to defend yourself against. Read more from uploadvr.com…
