Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland has a new PlayStation VR game from Crows Crows Crows and Squanch Games, and what better way to get the word out than a hype track with some of the best SoundCloud rappers? “WhosThatInTheTree” is a song about a mysterious creature in Accounting+, shown in the video above, who hides in a tree.

The video that accompanies the song takes place entirely in-game, and Roiland can be heard voicing the creature throughout. Roiland is joined by game developer William Pugh and illustrator Dominik Johann, alongside well-known rappers Casper and Bones.

Both rappers came up through SoundCloud, helping to define a subgenre or rap commonly referred to as “SoundCloud rap,” and use their alternative styles on the track to talk about Accounting+. The video goes through a couple of different environments that Accounting+ players will be able to explore.

The tone and aesthetic of the trailer changes with each new level, becoming increasingly more disturbing. That’s pretty on par for Accounting+, which PlayStation Lifestyle described as a “whirlpool of Inception-like VR hellscapes” that gradually spirals “downwards into a hellish VR abyss.”
The video is essentially a well-manicured piece of marketing for the game, but the song is actually pretty catchy. Read more from polygon.com…
