Two new escape rooms and a virtual reality gaming room are the latest additions to Valley Lanes Family Entertainment Center. The new attractions are additions to the bowling alley, Gimmicks Bar and Grill, laser maze, mini-golf, bumper cars, arcade and billiards at the entertainment facility, located at 5021 Bay City Road in Midland.

“I wanted to bring some big city amenities to Valley Lanes, because you usually only see escape rooms in bigger cities,” said Jason Rapanos, owner of Valley Lanes and Great Hall Banquet & Convention Center. The escape rooms, “Pharoh’s Revenge” and “Mayday Collateral” are $29 per person and ranked easy/intermediate and intermediate/difficult respectively.

Escape rooms can be booked online through Valley Lane’s website. The escape rooms have been open for a few weeks and only two groups have solved them so far, said Valley Lanes Operations Manager Tammy Whalen.

The escape rooms are staffed if groups going through want a clue or need out for any reason. Groups of three to eight can take on the challenge for the Mayday Collateral nautical-themed room, and two to eight can go through the Pharoh’s Revenge Egyptian escape room.

Participants must be at least 13 years old or accompanied by a guardian. Groups have one hour to make it through interactive puzzles in the in-depth experience where new passages will open and “everything is a clue,” Whalen said. Read more from…
