GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) — With virtual reality becoming more and more popular, a new business in Green Bay hopes to capitalize on that frontier of gaming.
Edge VR Arcade held its grand opening on Saturday. Unlike a traditional arcade, users put on a special headset that will immerse them in the game.
The arcade offers multiple types of virtual reality sets including a booth where you can stand in place. An active VR where you can walk and run in place and a VR simulator to try out racing or flying in a realistic way.
The owners of the arcade got the idea after seeing their friends experience virtual reality for the first time at home. “So, you can see it in a picture or on a screen but when you are actually in it and have to look around to see it the sense of scale it’s amazing.
So, we just love getting people in there and watching reactions, so let’s make a business out of it,” said Sean Bowers, Co-owner. The Delorean from Back to the Future was there for the grand opening Saturday to tease to the upcoming movie Ready Player One. Read more from wbay.com…
